Okay my friend just told me this last night and he works for Sony, so he would know. Basically the Wii is kicking the playstations arse and I  (as a lucky Wii owner) can completely understand why. The play station has gone for power, better graphics, faster processor.

As soon as you play the basic games on the Wii like Wario ware, you can tell that Nintendo has gone for a completely different approach, they have completely maxed out on the playability they have created simple playable games, with a console with a truly flexible interface, that can be adapted to do pretty much anything. I think the world is coming around to my way of thinking, all these better graphic engines and full motion video isn’t meaning better games. The production value of games are so high these days they can’t afford to experiment with them, so all you get is the same games, churned out again and again.
