Something Messy This Way Comes...

When it is cold outside and the kids are stuck indoors, they can soon end up becoming bored. Instead of just letting them sit around and veg-out in front of cartoons or video games give them something interesting to do!

But be warned, what I am about to suggest could be messy; very messy! Take precautions, lay down plenty of newspaper, sheet-over furniture and lock up their grandparents. How about getting the children to do… (Drum roll) papier mache?

Beauty's Death.

When you go out and buy something these days it will only have as much decoration on it as is absolutely necessary. However, things used to be very different…

In Victorian times, everything seemed to be intricately finished. It didn’t matter if it was a chair, a sideboard or an ink well; it would be adorned with the most wonderful designs. Nothing seemed to Read the rest of this entry »

The Good, The Bad And The Bacon Sarnie.

The Good, The Bad And The Bacon Sarnie.

Have you ever noticed how most of the nice things in life are the same ones that are bad for you? Not everything is like that, of course, but it does seem that an awful lot of the more pleasurable things have a detrimental effect on our health…

The easiest example to begin with is food. The tastiest items will normally do you the most harm; you will not see many aerobics instructors tucking-in to a full English breakfast. And Read the rest of this entry »

Naughty But Nice (And Legal).

We have all heard about how the movie industry has been suffering since the advent of illegal downloads on the internet. It is quite a hot subject on many a forum and a lot of people think that Hollywood is just being overly greedy. Perhaps we will never get to know just how much downloads are damaging the pockets of directors…

But did you know that there are actually legal download sites as well? There are hundreds of old films Read the rest of this entry »

Love In An Emulator.

If you are like me (God help you if you are) and you have a fondness for all arcade games then you should have a look at the ‘MAME32’ website.

MAME (which stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is a free download that allows you to play on hundreds of different vintage games. When you have installed the actual emulator it is just a simple case of downloading and running whatever ROM it is you are after. All of the Read the rest of this entry »

Klaus The Klutz.

January 5th, 2010

I’ve just come across an absolutely hilarious video on YouTube! It is the story of Klaus, a newly qualified German forklift driver and his first day at work. We follow Klaus as he discovers that doing a quick driving course and putting what you have learnt in to everyday practice are two very different things…

If you have ever had to sit through one of those boring Health and Safety videos at work then you are going to love this. Read the rest of this entry »

Write Now.

If you fancy trying your hand at creative writing then have a read of ‘It’s Your Write’ because it might spur you on a bit.

With something like creative writing it is all too easy to give up before you even get started. This is because it is something that needs to come from within you, and if you are full of self-doubt then you will never take that initial step.

Go on, give it a go! What have you Read the rest of this entry »

Wikipedia Gone Crazy.

I have just had the good fortune to come across a hilarious website called ‘Uncyclopedia’. If you are familiar with ‘Wikipedia’ then you will see that this site is set out in much the same way. In fact, if you imagine what Wikipedia would be like in a parallel universe then you have got a good idea of what to expect; wave goodbye to all political correctness, reason or accurate information.

If you have a sense of humour then this Read the rest of this entry »

Build Your Business Through Your Blog

I’m sure you have heard the term “monetize your blog” for profit. This is simply where you place ads on your blog and earn revenue from them or placing affiliate links throughout your blog and earning money on sales you generate. Did you know that you can actually build your home based business simply by owning a blog?

It is not that hard either. It just takes a little consistency and creativity. All you do is create a blog that Read the rest of this entry »
